[photogallerylink id=97472 align=left]PNC Bank and the United Way have established the ‘The Chardon Healing Fund’ to aid the families affected by the Chardon High School shooting.

A healing fund, c/o United Way Services of Geauga County has been established, which will be available to the Chardon community, including individuals, families and local institutions, so that we may aid in the healing of all. Due to the potential long term side efects of this tragedy, this fund will be open indefinitely.

Deposits in the name of Chardon Healing Fund can be made at any PNC Banking Office or by mailing to:
United Way Services of Geauga County
209 Center St. Unit H
Chardon, OH 44024

According to a posting made on the school districts website all faculty and staff returned to their schools.

Tomorrow, Thursday, March 1, all faculty and staff will report at regular times at all school buildings. Parents and students are invited to return together to their respective schools for walk-throughs at the following times:
High School 10-3 PM
Middle School 8-11 AM
Elementary Schools 1-3 PM

On Friday, all Chardon Schools reopen for staff and students at the usual start times. Counselors and local clergy will be on hand in each of our buildings each day.

At a press conference, Sheriff Daniel McClelland stated,  ”We will heel. We will never forget. We will remember the victims. Today I have plans to go home and hug someone.”

Geauga County Prosecutor David Joyce says, ”Unfortunately, at the end of the day someone, now three people have passed, and some others were injured, but this was the effect of one lone gunman. As was stated in court earlier today, he chose his victims at random. This is not about bullying. This is not about drugs. This is someone who is not well… We’ll make sure justice is done in this county.”

Joyce adds, ”We’re going to try this case I guarantee it.”
