Kevin Costner To Star In Movie As Browns GM, Filming To Take Place In Cleveland

Carl Harp, Q104 Cleveland

Cleveland has beat out Buffalo as the location for a new movies starring Kevin Costner as a fictitious NFL general manager.

Thanks to Ohio’s tax incentive to film productions studios (payments for local crews are 35-percent tax deductible), the film will save about $3 million in costs according to The Buffalo News.

Director Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters, Old School, Hitchcock) will head the project that centers are Costner restoring his team to its former glory (a common theme here in Cleveland).

Shooting will begin next month at the NFL draft at Radio City Music Hall in New York, and reports that the shoot could move to the Northcoast in late spring or early summer, around the same time as “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”

Cleveland Scene has posted an interesting “Draft Day” Wish List HERE.

A few Browns, sports and Costner fans have expressed their excitement on Twitter.
