Cody Simpson Swoons Over Miley Cyrus on 'Golden Thing'

Cody Simpson has shared his love letter to new girlfriend, Miley Cyrus, a sweet and sparse song called “Golden Thing.”

Reportedly penned by Simpson while Cyrus was in the hospital for tonsillitis surgery, Simpson details his love for his “Cali queen,” listing off loving emotions and smitten sentiments for the “Mother’s Daughter” singer. “A thousand thrills, a thousand chills, smokey eye, pearly white,” he sings sings softly. “I'm hot.
It’s a golden thing she’s got.”

Last week Simpson confirmed that it’s “safe to say,” the two are official at an event in Los Angeles. The romance comes have Miley officially split from husband Liam Hemsworth in August, and after a brief relationship with Kaitlynn Carter.

“The reason why it hasn’t been a really crazy sudden thing is just because we’ve been friends for so long,” Simpson told People, saying that the pair, “found each other again in a space where we’re both not partying, working real hard, and it just keeps things healthy and it’s good.”

“She’s creative. She’s very passionate about what she does, and I’m very similar in that sense. That’s why we get along so well.”

Cyrus previously released a lengthy statement in response to all of the reports of her dating life. “I know the public feels invested in my past relationship because they felt like they saw it thru from the beginning,” she wrote on Twitter. “I think that’s why people have always felt so entitled over my life and how I live it because they’ve watched me grow up.”

“Get used to me dating – this is where I am at!” she concluded.
