As the members of OneRepublic found themselves in quarantine after being exposed to someone who was sick, the band also found themselves at the deadline to turn in their fifth studio album. Ryan Tedder and company had a song called “Better Days” in the works, but it was this moment in time that truly brought it to a reality.

“I couldn’t help but be enormously affected by what was going on around the world right now,” Tedder said on Instagram. “I wanted to provide a glimmer of hope, but also timestamp this moment in time in this song.”

“This was a cathartic moment and release for me. I needed to process what’s going on, knowing so many people now that are sick and dying around the world," he added. "But I also wanted it to be hopeful.”

The group asked fans to showcase their own acts of kindness and love during this time of social distancing, supporting first responders and those on the frontline during this crisis. These stories are woven together in the touching video for the song, which the band released on Monday.

From Italy to Texas, the spirit of hope and love is alive throughout “Better Days,” once again proving that even though we are apart, we’re all in this together. OneRepublic will donate a portion of the proceeds from "Better Days" through September to MusiCares' COVID-19 Relief Fund, helping to ease the financial burden on the music community during this uncertain time.

On Monday night, we’ll revisit a performance from OneRepublic during RADIO.COM LIVE: And The Beat Goes On. Watch the band perform at the Hollywood Bowl in 2016, supporting another important cause during RADIO.COM’s annual We Can Survive concert. It all happens Monday night at 9PM ET / 6PM PT at RADIO.COM/live.
